Our Journey
Company Founded
Mike Woodiwiss established Spectrum Financial and Insurance Adviser, specializing in expatriate services in Germany.
Rebranded
Company rebranded as Spectrum International, becoming one of the leading international brokers for expatriates in Germany.
Second Generation
Dominic Woodiwiss joined the company, becoming a qualified Insurance Broker in 2020.
New Leadership
After Mike's passing, Cornelia Woodiwiss took over management as a registered Insurance Broker.
Third Generation
Leon Woodiwiss joined the team, becoming a qualified Insurance Broker in 2025.
Digital Expansion
Christian Woodiwiss joined as website designer and programmer, modernizing our digital presence.
The Founder
Mike was born on September 9, 1942, in Fleetwood, England. He attended school in Fleetwood and was later educated at the Royal Grammar School in Lancaster. His first career was as an officer in the Royal Air Force.
After leaving the Air Force in 1982, Mike, his wife, and their two sons moved to Germany. In 1985, he established Spectrum Financial and Insurance Adviser, specializing in expatriate services.
Initially serving primarily British clients, the company quickly expanded to support expatriates from around the world. Recognizing the strong need for specialized professional advice for international clients, the company developed extensive expertise and was rebranded as Spectrum International in 1999.
Today, we are considered one of the leading international brokers for expatriates in Germany, attracting inquiries from all over the world.
Current Owner & Management
Since Mike's passing on November 11, 2022, his wife, Cornelia, has taken over the management of the company and is now a registered Insurance Broker. Prior to this, Cornelia worked as a qualified Chartered Accountant Assistant while also supporting Mike in building the business. During that time, she was responsible for the company's accounting.
Our Team
Dominic Woodiwiss
Mike's eldest son, Dominic, joined the company in 2014. Since 2020, he has been a qualified Insurance Broker and serves as our Account Manager.
Leon Woodiwiss
Dominic's son, Leon, joined the company in 2023. Since 2025 he has been a qualified Insurance Broker and serves as our Account Manager under Dominic.
Christian Woodiwiss
Mike's younger son, Christian, joined the company in 2024. He works as our website designer and programmer, ensuring the site remains up to date.
