Excellent customer service. They treat you like a person rather than just a number. Example: when I mentioned in passing that a relative was hospitalized with covid, Mike asked about her health the next time we talked, weeks later. I always notice that Mike and Dominic strive to go above and beyond; I often come away from insurance-related phone calls with invaluable info about other aspects of managing the logistics of immigrant life in Germany, beyond just the insurance questions that I asked. Moreover, with Spectrum International, I also had everything I needed for every Ausländerbehörde appointment Ive had thus far.
Not only have they always provided informative answers to all of my insurance questions (and promptly!), but the additional professionals that they recommend for non-insurance needs are also top-notch. My friend told me to write Mike and Dominic after he heard how many insurers Id visited only to find out Id have to pay a whole lot of money for even the most basic options. I must admit my situation made me very anxious at the time: it seemed Id have to pay more for insurance than Id be making. Thank the cosmos I found Mike, and I mean it. Mike guided me through all the details and options he found for me, explained everything thoroughly and answered my messages so fast I often couldnt believe it. Not to mention the fact that he was also willing to explain everything I didnt understand in an email multiple times on the phone. Mind you, he did all of this even though I got the cheapest insurance imaginable. He even helped me with issues concerning taxes and other kinds of insurance. German bureaucracy is definitely a harsh mistress, especially if youre thinking about getting a citizenship here, but with Mikes help you dont have to fear her at all. He does all this with grace, it feels like hes out of an movie sometimes. Im so grateful for his help and all the time he spent helping me... Thank you!

I highly, highly recommend Spectrum and Mike Woodiwiss. As an American living in Germany, I quickly learned that the Visa office only accepts German insurance, but German insurance companies would not sell me insurance since I am an American. It was an extremely stressful catch-22. I finally found Mike based on great reviews I found on the internet, and he proved to understand what is needed for insurance better than the people at the visa office. He not only provided insurance, but also a page explaining insurance to the visa people which allowed my visa to go through without a problem. In addition to email, I have spoken to both Mike and his wife on the phone, both of whom are extremely helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and served as the only English speaking support I had in Germany throughout the almost two years I lived there. It is hard to express how grateful I am for the advice and kindness I received. I am now back in the US for an unknown timeframe, but I can say without any doubt that if I go back to Germany, Mike will be one of the first calls I will make in order to get back with Spectrum and Mike. I would not even consider looking anywhere else and would say this to anyone I know who is thinking of going overseas.
